Chamber of Commerce
The Sloatsburg Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit community organization dedicated to promoting economic opportunity and improving local quality of life through advocacy, leadership, events, and education, all to benefit members and the wider corridor community in which they live.
The Chamber is also a proud partner of Rockland County Tourism and Explore HarrimanNY, which promotes western Rockland County's unique state park and outdoor experience.

Elementary School
Sloatsburg Elementary School is part of the Suffern Central School District. The school services children in grades kindergarten to 2nd grade with an average school population of 300. The current school was built in 1942. Mrs. Vanessa Rodriguez is the current Principal.

Ambulance
The below ambulance service is currently under contract by the Town of Ramapo to provide ambulance coverage for the Village of Sloatsburg. They have a dedicated ambulance that is stationed at Good Sam Hospital and responds when dispatched by the County 911 system.

Fire Department
Mr. Matthew Swanson is the Chief of Department.
The Sloatsburg Fire Department is one of the 26 fully volunteer fire departments in Rockland County, New York. The Sloatsburg Volunteer Fire Department is part of the Rockland County Mutual Aid Plan. The department also provides, through a contractual arrangement, fire protection services to the Ramapo Fire Protection District #2 and the Johnsontown Road Fire Protection District. Responding to over 120 emergency calls a year, our responses range from structural fires, automatic fire alarms, vehicle accidents & extrication , brush fires, and hazardous materials incidents. The nearly 60 active members unselfishly and proudly dedicate their extra time to ensure the safety and comfort of the Village of Sloatsburg's visitors and residents. Aside from responding to emergency calls, our volunteers train weekly and routinely attend full training courses at the Rockland County Fire Training Center. The expertise and professionalism of Rockland's Volunteer Firefighters undoubtedly saves tax payers millions of dollars each year.

Police
The Village of Sloatsburg is provided police coverage through the Town of Ramapo Police Department. Department Headquarters are located at 237 Route 59 Suffern, New York. The current Chief is Daniel Hyman. The Department can be reached for non-emergency purposes at (845) 357-2400.
Rockland County Sewer District
Sewer services are provided to the Village of Sloatsburg by the Rockland County Sewer District. During business hours, their contact number is (845) 365-6111. After hours, please call (845) 365-6661.
Sanitation
Sanitation services are provided through a contractual arrangement with Rockland Green. The current hauler is Carlo Minuto Carting Co. Inc. Refer to Sanitation Service details for additional information. For all inquiries and questions, you can contact them at (845) 753-2200.

Water

Historical Society
Since 1979, the Sloatsburg Historical Society, SHS, has gathered monthly to promote and preserve our local history. They work closely with the Sloatsburg Library to collect and maintain historic documents and artifacts. In 2019, they sponsored the refurbishment of 5 Sloatsburg historic markers, and they maintain an annual tradition of conducting a historic tour of Sloatsburg for the 4th grade elementary students. The group actively promotes the awareness of local history through slide presentations, speaker programs and by publishing two books.
SHS is a federally tax-exempt 501c (3) non-profit organization and is chartered by the N.Y.S. Department of Education. The SHS depends on the generosity of organizations, businesses and individuals to fund its activities. Meetings are open to the public and are held every 4th Monday of each month at 7:00PM in the Community Room at the Sloatsburg Public Library.

Public Library
The Sloatsburg Public Library is located at 1 Liberty Rock Road. The Library is a unique New York State municipal library, with its own non-profit status and independent board of trustees appointed by the mayor. Ms. Annmarie McAnany is the Library Director overseeing library operations. The Board of Trustees includes: Jane Thompson, President, Beth Kaplan, Financial Officer, and Trustees Joanne Bitterman, Mario Donatelli, Merion Jenns, Edward Marse and Mary Hahn. The Board of Trustees meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. Meetings are open to the public.
The Library dates its origin to 1959 when a committee of 6 residents were appointed by then Sloatsburg Mayor John McAlevey. The committee began a book campaign to seed a public library. In 1967, the library officially became a village resource. It is composed of 2 connected historical Sloatsburg buildings that were originally part of St. Francis Episcopal Church, a mission church of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in tuxedo.

Senior Citizen Center
The Sloatsburg Senior Citizens Center is located at 8 Liberty Rock Road. The group was organized in 1972 and boasts a membership of over 90 members. Their weekly meetings are social with occasional guest speakers. The group meets every Wednesday at 1:00PM. Mr. Ralph Conte is the President.
